The story
What makes this car worth owning
In September 2023, at 130,217 miles, ~£17,000 of work was commissioned at BMR Performance, a dedicated BMW marque specialist. Highlights:
- Full Inspection II service including coolant, brake fluid and air conditioning regas
- Complete brake overhaul front and rear (new discs, pads, callipers, hoses and back plates)
- All four front control and reaction arms replaced
- Both front shock absorbers and anti-roll bar drop links renewed
- All four rear upper suspension arms replaced
- Full bare-metal respray of bonnet, bootlid and rear bumper, plus a new genuine BMW front bumper panel fitted and painted
- Driver's seat cosmetically repaired and headrest motor and cables replaced by BMR, leaving the interior in genuinely good condition throughout
- Alloys diamond-cut and refurbished, four new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres fitted front and rear
- Car machine-polished in full
The BMR invoice is available for inspection and can be viewed, along with the full scope of work carried out, on the Upgrades and Repairs pages.
The bodywork is rust-free: sills, arches and underside all clean. A CarPlay-compatible head unit has been fitted, and the exhaust system is new. The Sport-spec black leather is in great condition for the mileage. The car does carry a Category N marker on its history, resulting from a scratch to the left-hand side of the front bumper visible in the Gallery. Structurally this is cosmetic only, and the bumper itself is the genuine BMW replacement panel fitted by BMR. MOT runs to 16 July 2026. This is a well-documented, properly sorted, individual spec E39 at a realistic price.
